Salesforce® Spring ’21 Release is here. Here’s some quick information on the Release and highlights in review that caught our attention.
General Information about Spring ‘21
The Release Date for Spring ’21 will depend on your instance of Salesforce. The Release Weekends are scheduled on January 15, 2021, February 5, 2021, and February 12, 2021.
A Few Exciting Highlights
Share Records with Manual Sharing Streamlined
Salesforce has streamlined the UI within Lightning experience for sharing records. Prior to Spring ‘21, Users had to switch to Salesforce Classic to share records with Users or User Groups.
Create More Roles for Contacts
Salesforce has increased Administrator ability to create up to 5,000 Roles. Admins should always consider User Stories and setup Roles based on data access to ensure peak performance. Contact Salesforce Customer Support to increase limits.
High Velocity Sales for Opportunities
Users can now leverage sales cadences on any top sales object, at any stage of the sales cycle or deal. Track and engage directly and automatically on Lead, Contact, Opportunity, Account, or Person Account records using the best practice steps from Sales Cadences.
Forecasts on the Fly
Salesforce continues to extend mobile functionality. Users can now access forecasting anywhere, with the ability to view and make adjustments to forecasts using the Salesforce mobile app.
Lightning Page Performance
Salesforce now offers Users the ability to analyze Lightning page performance. The Page Analysis feature will show Users predicted load time, as well as performance breakdown by component.
Users can now utilize Lightning email templates in Salesforce automations; including, email alerts, Flow, Workflow, Process Builder, Approval Processes, and more.
COVID - Salesforce Maps Field Safety Kit
In addition to the COVID trend data layer, which is already available to customers, more features of the Field Safety Kit are available. Now Users can prepare for site visits with in-field safety questionnaire templates triggered for review by account executive check-in/check-out.
Salesforce Meetings
With the vast majority of the world’s meetings taking place virtually, Salesforce has stepped up with Salesforce Meetings. Take a deep dive and learn how the Meeting Digest screen summarizes meeting details, to include; attendees, related Opportunities, Tasks, Activities, Shared Content, Meeting Notes, and Einstein insights.
Einstein Recommendation Builder
Admins can now create custom recommendation models, combining any two objects to drive recommendations that improve CSAT, revenue, and more. Surface recommendations to agents in the console and/or to customers in a self-service portal with Einstein Next Best Action. To learn more Click Here
Admins can assign actions in the Lightning App Builder instead of the page layout, and apply filters to control when and where actions appear for users.
Field Service Cloud - Appointment Assistant
Appointment Assistant enhances customer engagement and transparency by letting customers know when help is on the way. The Appointment Assistant feature removes wait windows and gives customers real-time updates on the channel of their choice.
Dynamic Actions Enhancements
Harness the power of Dynamic Actions on Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, and Cases for Lightning Experience Desktop, and on Custom Objects in the Lightning Mobile app. Dynamic Actions is now available for additional objects and mobile!
Embed Lightning Scheduler Flows into Other Flows
Flows are the future of automation within Salesforce’s declarative automation tools. Lightning Flow has now been renamed to Salesforce Flow: this incorporates a set of features that includes Process Builder and Flow. Lightning Scheduler flow type now supports subflows. Admins can call a Lightning Scheduler flow from within another flow that is of the Lightning Scheduler flow type.
Debug Flows Made Easy
Have a Flow fail? Admins will now receive a link in the error email to open Flow Builder and see the failed flow interview’s path on the canvas. The detailed error information appears next to the canvas.
Guest Users Permissions Removed
Salesforce is removing the View All, Modify All, edit, and delete object permissions on all objects for Guest Users in new and existing orgs. These permissions are removed for custom objects and standard objects. Guest users can only have read and create object permissions.
